Nameplate LORD PALMER ex GWR Churchward Saint Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in December 1905 and numbered 175 renumbered 2975 in 1912. Originally named Viscount Churchill then Sir Ernest Palmer and lastly Lord Palmer. Lord Palmer was deputy chairman of the GWR from 1906-1943. Allocated to Bristol Bath Road and Banbury from where it was withdrawn in November 1944 and scrapped. In restored condition. If you look closely at the back of the plate you can see the GWR re used the backplate from Sir Ernest Palmer.
