WE AUCTION LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATES & WORKSPLATES, STATION TOTEM SIGNS, POSTERS & ADVERTISING SIGNS PLUS MUCH MORE....

Nameplate THE HUSSAR. Ex LMS 4-6-0 locomotive, built at Derby Works in 1930 under Lot 73 and originally numbered 6154. Rebuilt with a taper boiler in 1948 and renumbered under BR to 46154. A long time Crewe North loco, moved to Camden in 1950 and remained there for almost 10 years. Resided at Preston for a couple of years and then saw a final spell at Llandudno Junction performing a final fling on North Wales Express workings. Withdrawn December 1962. It is worthy of note that The Hussar took part in the 1948 interchange trials and certainly put in admirable performances on the Waterloo - Exeter route. The plate is as purchased from The Roundhouse Harrow in the 1960's by the vendor. A tasteful b/w framed photograph of rebuilt 46154, still with LMS Tender, accompanies.
