Nameplate HOUGHTON HALL. Ex Gresley LNER B17 Class 4-6-0 locomotive built Darlington in October 1930 and originally numbered 2812. Renumbered 1612 in 1946 and finally 61612 by BR in January 1949. Withdrawn September 1959. Note: The magnificent Houghton Hall is situated in Norfolk, not far from Sandringham and was the home of Sir Robert Walpole, Britain's first Prime Minister.
