Nameplate HERBERT together wits its matching worksplate AVONSIDE ENGINE Co LTD BRISTOL BUILT 1924 ENGINE no 1950. Ex 0-6-0ST with outside cylinders built to order 6005 and delivered new to Doncaster Amalgamated Collieries Ltd, Markham Main Colliery where it was named HERBERT, taken into NCB stock in January 1947 and transferred to Rossington Main Colliery in 1960 and finally scrapped in 1963. Nameplate is cast brass in as removed condition measures 33in x 6.25in and oval cast brass worksplate is face cleaned and measure 11in x 6.5in. A nice set complete with a couple of photographs of the locomotive.
