Nameplate COMPTON CASTLE ex British Railways Class 43 HST 43154. Allocated new to Neville Hill Jan 1981. Named at Laira Depot Jan 2020 and removed after it was taken out of service Dec 2023. Previously named Intercity (5/94-6/03). Moved to the West Somerset Railway Jun 2024 and currently in warm store at Bishops Lydeard. Rectangular cast aluminium in as removed condition measures 41.75in x 13.75in. Sold on behalf of Great Western Railway for their chosen charities and comes with an official GWR certificate of authenticity confirming the original owner. Note this is the last scheduled batch of these plates to be offered for auction by GWR.
