Nameplate COLONEL. Ex Hunslet 1459/1927 0-6-0 ST which was inherited by the National Coal Board from Manchester Collieries Ltd on 1/1/1947. It worked for the NCB at various locations - Chanters Colliery, Tyldesley; Wheatsheaf Colliery, Pendlebury; Parsonage Colliery, Leigh; Howe Bridge Colliery, Atherton; Gin Railways, Tyldesley; Bedford Colliery, Leigh. It was scrapped on site at Bedford Colliery 8/1966. Rectangular cast brass face restored measures 26in x 6.75in.
