Nameplate ALBERT together with matching makers plate A.R.ADAMS & SON ENGINEERS & BOILER MAKERS NEWPORT, MON. Ex Manning Wardle 1008 built in 1897 and delivered new to the Millwall Dock Co and numbered 9, later Port of London Authority number 37. Sold around 1927 to A.R. Adams & Son dealers Newport Monmouthshire who sold it in 1937 to The Thurrock Chalk & Whiting Co of West Thurrock Essex where its was named Albert. It worked until around 1956 when it was scrapped. Nameplate rectangular cast brass face restored measures 18.5in x 4.75in and makers plate oval cast brass face restored measures 9.25in x 5.75in.
