London and South Western Railway 8 inch dial mahogany cased fusee clock supplied to the LSWR around 1870 by John walker of London. The rectangular plated chain driven fusee movement has turned pillars and a shaped back cock. The mahogany case has a one piece turned surround, dovetailed back box with one side door and a bottom door with cock beading secured by a brass lock, it also retains its original cast brass bezel. The original dial is lettered L.S.W.R 3598 and has typical John walker heart shaped hands. The Southern Railway clock records show this clock as last being in use at Cosham Signal Box. In working condition complete with pendulum and key. A rare clock that has retained its pre grouping dial writing.
