London and South Western Railway 18 inch double dial V shaped wall mounted clock supplied to the LSWR in 1891 by John Gaydon of Barnstaple at a cost of 20-0-0d. The weight driven movement is complete with both dial gears and freely turns, the weight and pendulum are missing. The original white enamel dials are lettered JOHN GAYDON 99 HIGH ST BARNSTAPLE No 100. The wooden case is in very good condition and retains its original green painted finish and both cast brass bezels, one lacking glass. The Southern Railway clock records show that this clock was in use at Plymouth Friary Station Platform and was Transferred to the Western Region 1/10/1950. This is the only clock of this size supplied to the L&SWR and is worthy of restoration.
