This small box bears a brass handle stamped 'Bates & Sons, Wolverhampton' and is clearly stamped on the underside 'L&NER. Inside is a 2 compartment, lift-out cash box. Together with a few other items recovered with this from the same source at Kings Cross Station, comprising a leather index couriers wallet, a leather cash-bag (no location plate) and a leather, 4 compartment courier bag, plus a bunch of unmarked keys.
