London & North Eastern Railway Co. fully titled, engraved Brass Worksplate No. 1599 Doncaster 1924. Ex GNR J50 Class originally numbered 3240. Built in the June of 1924 using a second-hand boiler and received a built-up chimney. Re-numbered to 8939 in June 1946 and finally 68939 in September 1950. An Ardsley loco for most of its life, it also saw some service at Immingham. Withdrawn from Wakefield in October 1962. The original receipt in envelope, delivery note and label accompany this lot.
