London Brighton and South Coast Railway teak cased 16 inch dial weight driven regulator railway clock supplied to the LB&SCR in 1847 by Giles Coates of Pimlico London. The dial has been repainted in correct pre grouping style and is numbered 175 the case is also stamped 175B and retains its LB&SCR Winding and regulating label and stands 80in tall. The large brass rectangular plated movement has four spoke wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power, wooden pendulum rod with a brass bob, brass cased weight and weight pulley. The Southern railway clock records show it spent its entire railway working life at Bexhill Central Down Platform. A rare clock, In working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the clock record, but not tested for timekeeping.
