London Brighton and South Coast Railway 18 inch dial Teak cased regulator railway clock. Supplied to the LBSCR in 1868 at a cost of 17-10-0d by Richard Webster of Cornhill St London, the large rectangular plated movement is fully signed Webster Cornhill London and has six spoked wheels, deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power and a deal pendulum rod with a cast zinc cylindrical bob which is suspended from the backboard. The original dial repainted by the Southern and later British Railways Southern Region clock contractor, John Walker of 1 South Molton Street, London post 1948 shows their name an BR(S) 382B. The Teak case is in very good condition and is stamped 382B twice and also retains its original LBSCR winding and adjustment paper label. The Southern railway clock records show it spent its entire railway working life at Crowborough Station Platform. In working condition complete with pendulum, key and a copy of the clock record, but not tested for timekeeping.
