LD&ECR 10in oak cased fusee clock by POTTS & SONS of LEEDS. The fusee movement has shaped plates and turned pillars and is in good working condition. The original dial has been repainted back to the ghosted writing that was visible and now visible in ghosted is the later LNER dial writing showing LNER No 9241. Pencilled into the rear of the case is Skellingthorpe and the LNER records confirm that clock No 9241 was in use at Skellingthorpe Signal Box. The clock probably dates from the opening in 1897 and Skellingthorpe was the only LD&ECR station in Lincolnshire and one of two LD&ECR stations that had a level crossing. A rare timepiece in working condition complete with pendulum and key.
