LB&SCR 10 mahogany cased chain driven fusee Clock by Grimshaw Baxter & Elliott Ltd. The chain driven fusee movement is in excellent condition and the case complete with its original cast bezel is also stamped to the rear 590 B. The dial has been repainted post 1948 and now reads B.R.(S) John Walker, 1 South Molton Street 590.B. The SR clock records show that this clock was supplied new to the LB&SCR in 1891 and was originally in use at Selham Signal box on the line from Midhurst to Pulborough. It was later transferred to the Station Master's Office at Charing Cross and then to the stores at Wimbledon. The vendor actually recovered it from London Bridge Signal Box where it was languishing in disrepair behind one of the signal panels. A wonderful example in full working order.
