GWR Nameplate, HOPTON GRANGE with matching brass cabside numberplate 6865, matching Smokebox Numberplate and 81D Shedplate. Ex GWR 6800 Grange Class 4-6-0 Locomotive built Swindon March 1939. An Old Oak Common loco for many years and later Reading, then Carmarthen, Gloucester, Laira, Ebbw Junction and St Philips Marsh from where it was withdrawn on 8 May 1962 and cut up at Swindon Works in June 1962. The nameplate is clearly stamped 'R 6865' on the rear indicating this to be the right hand plate. Note: Hopton Grange was Monastic Grange five miles south of Montgomery, Powys.
