Great Western Railway 12in dial teak cased drop dial railway clock with a chain driven English fusee movement with rectangular plates and turned shaped pillars. The case with a one piece wooden surround, original cast brass bezel hinged to the left and secured with a keyed bezel lock, two side access doors and a bottom door secured with a lock, the original ivorine G.W.R. 282 numberplate screwed onto the front. The dial has been repainted at the GWR Clock works Reading post 1949 and displays BR-W. Also with the clock is a correctly painted GWR aluminium dial overlay which could easily be re-instated over the original. An early GWR clock probably supplied by John Walker in the mid 19th century. In full working order complete with pendulum and keys and detailed fact sheet of its restoration by Dr. D. R. Parr.
