Great Northern Railway 8 inch mahogany cased fusee railway clock with a cast brass bezel and a rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement. Supplied to the GNR around 1870 by John Walker of London. The original dial displays G.N.R. 520 J.J.STOCKALL & SONS LTD LONDON and this dates to the early part of the 20th century when Stockall took over the GNR London area contract from Walkers and rewrote the dial with their details. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and is in nicely restored condition. The GNR and LNER clock record show this clock as having most or all of its life at Sandy station and was last in use at the Goods office. Restored and overhauled by Dr D.R. Parr and complete with comprehensive information sheets, In full working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. A rare chance to obtain a Great northern clock that has escaped subsequent dial rewrites.
