Great Northern Railway 12in mahogany cased fusee railway clock supplied to the GNR circa 1880-1890. The English wire driven fusee movement has rectangular plates and turned pillars and is in good working condition. The dial has been repainted post 1923 by the LNER clock workshops at Doncaster and now displays L.N.E.R. 9845. Its previous GNR clock number 1058 is stamped onto the back of the dial and also the spring barrel cover. The mahogany case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock and retains its original cast brass bezel. The LNER clock records confirm that clock No 9845 was last in use at Woodhouse Mill Ground Frame Cabin. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and key.
