Great Northern & Great Eastern Railway 12in dial teak cased railway clock with a cast brass bezel secured with a bezel lock, and a chain driven English fusee movement with large rectangular plates. Supplied by John walker of London around 1865. The restored dial is lettered GN&GE J Ry and the case has one side door and a bottom door secured with a brass lock, the rear of the dial has its LNER number 2165 painted on the back and various repair dates and marks. The LNER records show the clock as last being in use at Postland Station booking hall and was removed when the station closed in 1961. In working order but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum and keys. This clock was restored and retailed by Dr D.R. Parr and his label is pasted onto the inside of the back box.
