Great Central Railway 8 inch mahogany cased railway clock supplied by Seth Thomas of Connecticut America circa 1900. The original dial is lettered G.C.Ry No 1139. The Seth Thomas movement is of the marine type with twin going barrels and the clock may have been used in one of the companies ships before being housed in its ornately carved case. The case stands 15in tall x 20in wide and has a label attached to the rear Supplies & Contracts manager clock and watch section Doncaster 29th Feb 1968. The clock works intermittently so might benefit from a clean complete with key. An unusual clock.
