Glass Negatives, a substantial collection of 11 original 'Imperial Plate Company' boxes (plus some loose), predominantly recording the opening of the Great Central Railway Immingham Docks on the 22nd July 1912 by King George V. During the ceremony Sam Fay the General Manager of the GCR was knighted. Also, subsequent images of the docks in the days and months following the opening. An additional box of plates is marked 'Aldersgate Depot 1907' and another box 'Opening Of The St Helens Branch'. Quality images from the era, many ships including the Steamer 'Killingholme', the Royal Train, people in Edwardian dress. Quite magnificent. Owing to the historic and fragile nature of the material, viewing will be strictly controlled, this archive material cannot be lost.
