Cast aluminium cabside numerals 1015 ex British Railways diesel hydraulic locomotive named Western Champion. Built at Swindon in 1963 and allocated to 88A Cardiff Canton, withdrawn from Landore in December 1976 and purchased for preservation. as removed possibly by one of the fitters at Landore when they became loose in service. Included with the lot is a copy of the collectors corner sale lists for July 1977 showing that one side of Western Champion nameplate was sold with its cabside backing plate only. All in ex service condition. Note the Collectors corner sale lists also confirm that 1051 was sold complete.
