Cabside Numberplate 5951 ex GWR 4-6-0 locomotive named CLYFFE HALL. Built Swindon in December 1935 and allocated new to Gloucester. A short time at Worcester saw the return to Gloucester and undoubtedly became the 'old favourite' Withdrawn from there in April 1964 and finally cut up at Cashmores, Newport in August 1964. The numerals and rim of the face has not been touched but indications are that someone has applied black paint at some time, the lining has disappeared. A framed and glazed colour photograph taken in June 1962 at Blatchbridge Junction on a Cheltenham - Weymouth train accompanies. Note: Clyffe Hall is an early 18th century building at West Lavington, a few miles south of Devizes.
