Railway china is often underestimated in terms of collectability. The larger railway companies had their own hotels in strategic cities, similarly, they had station restaurants and refreshment rooms and ultimately, restaurant carriages and dining cars on express trains. It made sense to promote all with bespoke chinaware bearing company initials and coats of arms. From the humble tea cup and saucer to chamber pot; butter dish to fruit bowl; egg cup to wash bowl and many more. The GWR produced many varieties and black leaf items are rather special.
