British Railways Wooden Slide Show Box containing 24, early glass lantern slides from LNER days. The box is extremely well constructed having a couple of brass, BR(E) stamped hinges, a functional leather restraining strap and a multitude of BR labels to the Motive Power Depot Ardsley. Within are a couple of memos pertaining to the 'Improvement Classes' that these slides were utilised. One interesting circular notes that they were to be shared between Ardsley, Mexboro, Wath, Darnall and Drighouses. The slides are predominently of Locomotive Valve gear with the odd signalling example.
