BR-W brass cabside naming plaque ON THE 15TH NOVEMBER 1950 IN THE ERECTING SHOP AT SWINDON WORKS H.R.H THE PRINCESS ELIZABETH NAMED THIS ENGINE SWINDON IN HONOUR OF THE JUBILEE OF THE BOROUGH ex Collett Castle 4-6-0 numbered 7037. Allocated to Swindon and 81A Old Oak Common in March 1963 which is where the plate was removed. Scrapped at Cashmores Newport. Rectangular engraved brass measures 8.75in x 3.75in. NOTE This plate was fitted to the left hand side of the cab just above the cabside numberplate. A truly historic piece.
