WE AUCTION LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATES & WORKSPLATES, STATION TOTEM SIGNS, POSTERS & ADVERTISING SIGNS PLUS MUCH MORE....

BR Station Platform Lamp Diffuser HARROW & WEALDSTONE, maroon raised lettering on opaque white background. Excellent example measuring 69 x 9 which was the regulation size for these along the West Coast Main Line. They did of course, replace Totems on many of the stations and when they come complete with metal rim, as this one does, they make stunning light covers for the workshop, garage or railway room. This location, north of Euston was the location of the train disaster in 1952 when Duchess 'City Of Glasgow' ran through a red signal, into the rear of a commuter train. The resulting mayhem was exacerbated by a double-headed express, headed by the Turbomotive Princess Royal 'Princess Anne' and Jubilee 'Winward Islands', ploughing into the wreckage.
