An original Great Eastern Railway locomotive crest from a Claud Hamilton class S46 4-4-0. It was mounted on the leading left-hand splasher. Only 10 locomotives carried such crests. This crest would have been removed in early LNER days (See RCTS - Locomotives of the LNER Part 3C). In original condition. Heavy cast aluminium, measures 12.5in x 15.75in, complete with 3 of its original back bolts and nuts. Not to be confused with the later lightweight reproductions.
