Ex Class 08 Diesel Shunter D3729, built Crewe Works 1958 and allocated to 64A St. Margarets, Re-numbered 08562 in November 1973 whilst allocated to Gateshead and was Withdrawn in December 1981. Stored at Heaton and then Swindon Works an eventually reinstated and allocated to Neville Hill, Leeds, in February 1985. In March 1985 it was transferred to Doncaster and was named THE DONCASTER POSTMAN in November of that year. Numbered CT 83 it saw use at Dollands Moor, Channel Tunnel, from November 1993. Finally Withdrawn in January 1994 and disposed of at Old Oak Common in August 1997. The plate measures 41.75 x 3.5 and although it has been cleaned up completely, it does have remnants of BR blue on the bottom edge and rear. £300

147 Single Line bronze Tyers No.9 Key Token MILLBURN JN - ROSE STREET (No. Single Line bronze Tyers No.9 Key Token MILLBURN JN - ROSE STREET (No.2) created for the temporary single line section between the signal boxes during stage works for the revised track layout introduced at Inverness as part of the Inverness resignalling scheme introduced on 8th March 1987. The token dates from 1986 when it was the intention of BR at the time to replace the ageing Tyers No.6 tablet instruments on the section between Rose Street and Clachnaharry with refurbished electric key token machines. Due to logistical delays the project was overtaken by the installation of RETB and the electric token machines and their key tokens which had already been supplied, were never installed. As a result the token is in excellent condition save for the where the £35

The silver case is hallmarked for Birmingham 1902 and bears the case makers initials A.L.D., the inside hinged movement dust cover is hand engraved LONDON BRIGHTON & SOUTH COAST RAILWAY No 628 and is in pristine condition. The American Waltham watch company 15 jewelled top wound and set movement is in excellent working order and the enamel dial is clean and free from chips and cracks. Measures 50mm in diameter and 20mm thick. Accompanying the watch is the official BR receipt dated 2nd November 1995 and is headed Watches retained on retirement, guards regulator, J.Chalcraft London Bridge Station. A superb survivor. £800

Each has a most ornate pattern cast into the face. Vendors father was foreman of the Carriage Repair Shop Swindon and he acquired these on his retirement as they were most likely spares held in the Stores. Confirmed by the Collections Officer at the Steam Museum Swindon, to be identical to those held by the Museum that originated from the 1897 Diamond Jubilee Train. Apart from the Museum holdings, these are almost certainly to be of utmost royal rarity and a significant piece of British railway heritage. £500

Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway 12 dial mahogany cased drop dial trunk clock by Skarratt of Worcester circa 1885. The chain drive fusee movement has been stripped and manually cleaned and is in full working order it features shaped shoulders, cut out to the bottom and tapered pillars. The original dial now reads GWR in the block style but clearly in ghosted writing you can make out SKARRATT WORCESTER R&SBR, the case is made from mahogany and features a one piece wooden dial surround with a spun brass bezel. This clock is the only known clock wall mounted clock to have surfaced from this small welsh company which was opened in 1885 , worked by the GWR from 1906 and finally grouped into the GWR in 1922. In full working order complete with pendulum and key. £2000

Of interest, Hannington Hall was built in 1653 in the village of Hannington, just outside Swindon. The nameplate has remained untouched for circa 50 years since delivery from BR, the cabside had the paint stripped off at that time but it too has been untouched since. £5000

The clock is in excellent working order and the case is retains its original finish however the lenticle window glass is missing, but this is a relatively easy item to replace. The original dial writing reads Caledonian Rail Co and has not been messed around with. The vendor first came across this clock in use at his office in the former North British Hotel in George Square Glasgow, the clock then followed him around throughout his career with British Railways and was purchased upon retirement. A nice pre grouping Scottish clock in untouched condition but In full working order complete with pendulum and key. £600
