Supplementary Postal/Telephone On-line Auction Terms & Conditions

NOTE: By registering to bid in the On-Line Auction, you are confirming adherence to these, the GWRA Standard Terms & Conditions and the GWRA Privacy Policy. The special nature of on-line auctions warrant additions/amendments as follows:

1. Descriptions are intended to be as accurate as possible and whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, they are of our opinion only and GWRA does not accept liability for errors or omissions. Unless indicated otherwise, items will be at least in good condition.

2. If you are not registered with GWRA, do so by telephone or email and provide full name, address and telephone number beforehand. Bidding will be accepted by email and must provide at least your surname and post code. Alternatively, up to 5.00pm on block closing day, you may bid by telephone using 01684 773487 or if engaged, 07816 222161. All bids will be acknowledged and you will be assigned a unique bidder number that only GWRA and yourself will know. Should you bid and lead with any item, this unique number will show next to the leading bid and will enable you to see whether you are the leading bidder or not.

3. Every effort will be made to keep bids up to date, however, even email can be delayed but provided the time-stamp is before block end, they will be accepted after close time. Therefore, the absolute final results will not be confirmed and 'locked' until 10.00am on the morning following each block. Telephone and postal bidders are asked not to contact us before this time to check results.

4. Winning Bidders will be notified of Postage & Packing of lots. This will be charged as extra and items will only be sent using a postal service that includes insurance. This cost will be borne by the purchaser. Minimum service will be ‘Signed For’ with a minimum charge of £2.95 (more for bulkier items). For invoices over £39 the service will be 'Special Delivery' with a minimum charge of £5.95 (more for bulkier items). If neccessary, parcels will be sent via Standard Parcels with appropriate insurance, cost determined after the sale. Note: The standard ‘Proof Of Posting’ method will not be used because tracking is not available for this service. We will not be liable for loss or damage in the post and any claims for such will be the purchasers’ responsibility. However, we will provide the appropriate assistance including documents pertaining to posting. These charges do not include VAT which will be added at the standard rate.

5. Because the items will not be on public view, in special circumstances, private viewing may be arranged.

6. Some lots may carry a reserve.

7. Bidding will be in whole pounds and successful bids will always be either the reserve (if there are no other or lower bids) or one bid above any other bidder subject to the increments following:-

£1 - £50, £2 increment
£50 - £100, £5 increment
£100 - £500, £10 increment
£500 - £1000, £20 increment
£1000 and above, £50 increment

8. A Buyers Premium of 10% + VAT will be added to the hammer price

9. In the event of equal bids for any lots, the first bid will be the leading bid.

10. Payment options:

Cheque, Postal Order or Cash - no charge
Debit Card - 40p per total transaction
Credit Card - 3% charge on overall invoice
Paypal - 5% charge on overall invoice

11. Successful bidders should receive an invoice within 3 days of auction end. If not, they should telephone 01684 773487 to request their invoice. Settlement terms are within 7 days of receipt of invoice.

12. All lots won in this auction, apart from lots marked 'DCO' will be posted unless arrangements are made for personal collection, or delivery to certain venues selected by us (this option carries a charge of £5 regardless of quantity). Lots marked DCO will not be posted. Additionally, multiple lots that are excessive weight or dimensions will not be posted and in such circumstances, we suggest the company named 'Mailboxes' who are located in Worcester who will collect, pack and despatch items for clients.

13. Vendors wishing to place items in GWRA on-line auction should, in the first instance, contact us personally or by email or phone to discuss suitability. Our charges from 1st August 2010 for items delivered/collected and held by us are -

• 10% plus VAT for individual items on the first £5000
5.0% plus VAT on the next £5000 to £10000
0% beyond £10000

14. Known Vendors wishing GWRA to auction their lots from their premises must supply detailed descriptions and high resolution images. For such items, GWRA will handle the sale only and it will be the Vendor's responsibility to deliver the item to the successful Buyer once settlement has been received by us. Settlement will be after the Buyer takes charge.

Charges for items sold from Vendor premises are:-

• 8% plus VAT for individual items on the first £5000
• 3.0% plus VAT on the next £5000 to £10000
0% beyond £10000

15. Vendor Commission will be deducted from the Hammer Price. Items carrying a reserve will be charged a minimum of £5 sold or not sold. Items entered without reserve will also carry a minimum charge of £5 if sold, but no charge if unsold. Payment will be within 28 working days of auction end.
