All 4 have their original certificates.

Industrial Nameplate KAPAI and matching Worksplate. Ex Peckett No 1532 1920. Measures 19¼" x 6½" and is face restored. The Worksplate - Peckett No 1532 1920 is brass oval measuring 12” x 8½”. Ex NCB Pooley Hall Colliery, Polesworth nr. Tamworth Staffs. Scrapped at Birds Long Marston from where it was obtained at the time. The name is apparently of New Zealand origin. A quite magnificent set.

Compton, Sons & Webb Ltd., it is in excellent condition throughout and retains the original label assigning to J.H Ayres, Loader, at High Wycombe Station. James Henry Aires, who was at High Wycombe then Slough during the war, was the Grandfather of the Vendor.

Great Northern Railway Salters Spring Balance with large hanging hook. A wonderful survivor weighing up to 100 lbs. The brass face has the makers name and Staffordshire Note Trade Mark. It is also, importantly stamped with the Queens Crown and 'VR 239LC'. On the rear is a lovely, brass plate stamped GNR 164. Ex Kings Cross Station Engineering Department.

Poster, Southern Railway Q/R 'HMS Victory - Portsmouth' A magnificent image of the ship, from a painting by Kenneth Shoesmith. Below is a Stagecoach with the wording 'The Old Portsmouth Road' and next to that is a single Electric Carriage and the words 'The new road to Portsmouth' Along the bottom in pseudo sunshine lettering Southern Electric with flash. A wonderful poster in vivid colour and very good condition with the exception of a clean, 10" tear left centre edge, not impinging the image and surely repairable. A well traveled loco which was also allocated to Pontypool Road, Exeter, Worcester, Newport and Cardiff. Finally stored at Swansea East Dock and scrapped at Birds, Morriston in October 1965

A wonderful collection of good quality, 'bought' photographs, mostly b/w but some colour. The Vendor had attempted a complete run of ex GWR 'named' locos during BR days and was not far from completion. Pure nostalgia and an interesting project to complete. Also Photographs, Slides, Postcards and miscellany in a box. Includes approx 500 mainly b/w good quality photographs (with some interesting colour photos): 60 Colour Rail Slides: Assorted Tickets and letters from BR days. Also 3 Birmingham Post Posters from the 1960's advertising the very early Tyseley Open days. Also a couple of prints including a Cuneo of the Jubilee at Tyseley. GNR or possibly LNER Kings Cross Porter Badges, qty 3 mounted on card. Two have original rear clip, the third just the hooks. All three are absolutely original with the original felt cloth in the centre, behind the numbers. Each and every porter at Kings Cross had to wear one of these for identification purposes. Not in Froggatt, certainly of significant scarcity even though here are 3 in one go.

GWR Silverplated Oyster Pick by Elkington Plate and beautifully engraved with the GWR Twin Shield Crest. Measures 7¼" in length and in view of its minimal use, is virtually mint.

Worksplate Hunslet Engine Co., Leeds No. 1721 dated 1933. Ex LMS Diesel Mechanical Shunter 0-6-0 Locomotive originally numbered 7402 then in 1934 it was renumbered 7052. From 1940 until the end of 1942 it became WD number 24. Finally withdrawn in December 1943. Measures approx 11½" x 8" brass oval. A rare and desirable Hunslet Plate.

Totem, BR(W) STRATFORD UPON AVON, H/F. By far the best example seen so far with absolutely minimal defects and wonderful colour and shine. Most were damaged by the gas works atmosphere around the station. This one somehow managed to survive the pollution.

A wonderful, framed and glazed item which has a number of Broad Gauge Vignette images encircling a central image of a couple of Broad Gauge Locomotives. Dated June 1886 originally, this was presented to William John Winter on the 8th November 1911.

Weymouth & Portland Railway Brass Uniform Button. A delightful example of this little known Company which opened in October 1865 and was leased jointly to the GWR and LSWR. Similar to Froggatt Plate 45/17 but as the text in the book states, "slight differences in the lettering on different issues can be observed" This particular 16mm example is quite stunning.

Worksplate The Drewry Car Co. Ltd. City Wall House London E.C.2. Loco No. 2501 204 H.P - 1953 Constructed by The Vulcan Foundry Ltd., Newton-Le-Willows, Lancs No. D229. Brass oval in ex loco condition. This loco worked at the Duke Street Wharf and Bidston Iron Ore Dock Birkenhead.

LSWR Brass Theodolite housed in a wooden carrying box. This wonderful instrument is engraved with the makers name Elliot Bros., London and is also engraved in large lettering " L & S W Ry No 1". Measuring 15" in length with focus barrel retracted. The brass mounting plates are in the carrying box but there is no tripod. Fixed to the top is the levelling bubble but this has long broken and could, no doubt be repaired. The makers plate is missing from the box lid but because of this, the LSWR stamping is clearly visible, indeed the railway may well have removed the makers plate to stamp this. In all, a museum piece of railway history.

Industrial Nameplate COWBURN and matching Worksplate. Ex Hunslet No 544 1891. Top of plate stamped "R" Measures 30¾” x 6⅞, face polished. The Worksplate is in the wonderful, old style - Hunslet No 544 1891, is face polished with original patina on back. Measures approximately 15” x 9½. This loco belonged to the NCB at Pooley Hall Colliery, Polesworth nr. Tamworth and ended its days at Birds Long Marston, from where it was obtained on scrapping in the mid 1960's. Named after the tunnel on the Hope Valley Line between Manchester and Sheffield. A quite magnificent set indeed.

Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Engineering Tools from Horwich Works. A wonderful little collection of 9 items of considerable importance, rescued from the Works when they became of no further use. There are 2 Axle Box Gauges, the first is stamped 'Steam Motor Rail Coach No 9182' , the second is stamped 'Ldg & Inter Axlebox 0-6-0 Shunting Tanks, Distance Between Feet For Keep'. Then there are 3 male/female threaded devices, all beautifully stamped with company initials (one stamped LMRH, London Midland Railway Horwich). Finally, 4 Wheel Profile Gauges, not company marked apart from one LMRH again, but stamped with some details.

BR(W) Chain Driven, Fusee Movement Time Recorder Clock by The Gledhill - Brook Time Recorders Ltd., Huddersfield, Halifax, London & Birmingham. Complete with all mechanism and ribbon and all necessary keys. Ivorine plate beneath dial reads 'BR-W 5713. Also accompanied by an interesting BR Label indicating it was used at Plymouth, Post Office Road. In full working condition.

British Railways Platform Ticket Machine. Measuring 36" high x 13", it has an opaque glass insert 9½" x 4¼" with 'PLATFORM TICKETS' embellished. Beneath this is small aperture within which slides a white with red lettering enamel sign '2p' (when in use) and 'EMPTY' when the tickets have run out. Below this, is a later added plastic notice ' Insert x 3 2p coins. Inside, attached to the mechanism, is a small bakelite plate which reads 'BR(S) 44. Not sure of the working condition but overall it would make a fine addition to the collection.

Milford Junction is between Micklefield and Selby. Interesting Pocket Watch with enamel dial bearing a turn of the century 2-6-0 locomotive and 4 wheel tender. Bears the makers name EKB Chronome27tro above the locomotive. Key wind mechanism but unsure whether fusee or not. The case is hallmarked with the Chester mark for 1904. In a non-original case of Bennett Watch maker & Goldsmith bearing a reverse label to a gentleman in Aston Green and dated 1867. Not official railway but quite superb nevertheless and in working order.

Stourbridge Railway Subscription Contract Document. Maroon vellum covers with thick parchment paper, the document, dated 1859 and stamped such with official £1-15-0 seal, it is beautifully hand written on 6 pages, 2 of which contain the names of the share subscribers with amounts and dates. Also the official seal of the Stourbridge Railway. The cover has some loss and the title, in gilt, is worn but discernable. Inside pages are excellent. A truly historic document from the early years of West Midlands Railways. Note: The Stourbridge Railway was from Stourbridge Junction to Handsworth Junction, incorporated 14th June 1860 and opened 1st April 1863. Firstly worked by the West Midland Railway and later the GWR into which it was absorbed on 1st February 1870(courtesy Tim Petchey 'Railway Undertakings in the British Isles to 1950'

Great Northern Railway Lorry or Cart Lamp. A truly wonderful lamp, basically cylindrical in shape with top, handled chimney. Has a large 8" diameter, brass rimmed front cowl and rectangular 4½" x 4¼", beveled glass side aperture. Stamped GNR on chimney. Interesting, totally original, elliptical rape oil reservoir, 5" deep x 4" wide, clearly stamped G.N.R. Missing bullseye lens (5¾" diameter), otherwise complete. A marvelous item, originated from Kings Cross Goods Yard.
