NER wall mounted Station Platform Lamp with tablet GREENHEAD. Ex NER station just west of Haltwhistle on the Carlisle to Newcastle route. Closed in January 1967. A lovely, copper lamp in excellent condition throughout.

Single Line Alloy Key Token CAERSWS - NEWTOWN. Ex Cambrian Railways section between Shrewsbury – Machynlleth opened in June 1861.Excellent ex box condition with most of the red paint still extant.

Carriage Print 'CADGWITH, VIA HELSTON, CORNWALL'  by Jack Merriott, from the Western Region series. In an original BR(NE) bakelite frame. A rare one for sure.

LNER C/I Seatback LAISTERDYKE. Ex GNR station, opened August 1854 between Leeds and Bradford Adolphus Street. Closed to passengers in July 1966. Measures just short of 36" and has been totally restored.

BR(S) enamel Station Sign TOWN CENTRE with right facing arrow, white on green, then beneath FOR WEST STATION STRAIGHT AHEAD TURN RIGHT THEN FIRST LEFT, green on white in a panel. F/F measuring 36" x 30". Excellent condition with deep colour and shine and only minor chips. Ex Tunbridge Wells station.

Art Deco EPNS Teapot and matching Sugar Bowl. The Teapot is engraved " Stanley Lee from his Colleagues in the GWR STATIONERY DEPARTMENT 22nd July 1935". This was at the height of the GWR art deco era and the superb lines of both pieces reflect the innovative lines associated with the 1930's. The markings beneath show that the manufacturer was FC & Co (Frank Cobb, 1905-c.1940 at 35-37 Howard St. Sheffield).

British Railways (NE) enamel Doorplate 'PARCELS'. Flangeless measuring 18" x 3½", virtually mint.

LNER Sliding Knob Handlamp stamped on the reducing cone 'STOW 10'. Complete with LNER marked reservoir and a BR burner. Unrestored condition. Stow was between Downham Market and Magdalen Road, closed June 1964.

Worksplate Midland Railway Rebuilt Derby 1909. Oval brass approximately 10½" x 6". Quite possibly ex Class 2P 4-4-0 which were further rebuilt from 1909 onwards with either saturated or superheated boilers. Face clean, rear totally ex loco.

NER Saxby & Farmer C/I Signal Finial in excellent, restored condition.

Diecast Models, a large collection in three suitcases. Some boxed but mostly loose. Many manufacturers, quite possibly some early. Must be viewed to appreciate. (To be removed on the day by the successful buyer)

GWR Thread Testing Set consisting of 30 pieces ranging from 2" down to ¼", mostly bearing the GWR stamping. Housed in a purpose made box. A remarkable survivor.

Deltic Driver's Seat in absolutely original condition. Stands 48" from the floor with some adjustment from the height mechanism.

Worksplate Built Horwich 1948, oval C/I. Only twenty Ivatt Class 4, 2-6-0 'Flying Pig' locomotives numbered 43003 - 43022 were built this year at Horwich so undoubtedly from one of these. 43003 - 43010 (3003 -3010) were built whilst still under LMS and probably had those initials on the plate. This plate has no initials so narrows down further to 43011 - 43022, take your pick.

LNER Coronation ware EPNS ½ pint Teapot manufactured by Walker & Hall, Sheffield. Deep engraving in traditional, Coronation style 'LNER' in falling block on the side. Flip-top lid fits correctly and the entire item is in excellent condition throughout.

Great Northern Railway wooden Lecturn measuring 26½" x 19¾" x 4½". The frame is mahogany and the writing surface is oak with a black leather covering. Stamped in large letters beneath 'GNR'. A functional item in extremely good condition for age.

Midland & Great Northern Railway Signal Box Diagram 'M&GN BRININGHAM SINGLE LINE'. A delightful diagram, in colour showing the loop between Holt and Melton Constable with the road crossing right in the centre. Measuring 33½" x 13½" in the original, glazed frame, it bears the company stamp dated March 1909 in the bottom right corner. In excellent condition, just minor staining right side but this doesn't detract from one of the best M&GN diagrams we have seen.

Totem BR(NE) FERRYBRIDGE, H/F black edged lettering. Ex NER station between Pontefract and York. Opened in 1882, three years after the completion of the Swinton & Knottingley Joint line via Moorthorpe on 1 May 1879. It closed in 1965. Extremely good condition, some retouching around the edges but looks excellent displayed.

North Eastern Railway 'split-case' Signal Box Block Bell with ivorine plate 'Main Line' (Pelaw written afterwards). Excellent, ex box condition throughout.

LNWR wooden First Aid Box with original labels (plus a later BR). Hinged top lid, measures 17" x 6" x 8". No contents except a few wooden splints some stamped L&NWR. Together with a small green on white enamel sign 'Fire Exit' with left facing arrow and also a BR North Eastern Region 'Best Kept Station' award for Featherstone Station dated 1958, in its original glazed frame.

LNER 12" fusee Clock in absolutely original condition still retaining the paperwork from the Clock & Watch Section Doncaster to Stores Controller York. Face numbered 11669. Records show that this was in use at Lincoln Goods. Probably requires some attention.

Nameplate ROBERT A RIDDLES. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3150 and built by the English Electric Co under works number E3731/E391 in March 1966. Renumbered 86202 in Dec 1972 and then 86102 in July 1974, it was named by Robert A Riddles himself at Euston station on 19 May 1981. Scrapped at MoD Caerwent in April 2005.

GWR Tinplate Map of the System in an original wooden frame. Measures 34½ x 28" and although a little rusty, it has survived remarkably well with most of the stations and lines still clear The original framers label on the rear is addressed to the Stationmaster, Bryn Teify GWR Station.

Tyers Electric Key Token TAYNUILT - OBAN number 3, brass construction. Ex Caledonian Railway section in the picturesque west of Scotland. Oban box opened in 1904 and closed in 1982. Taynuilt was just a Cabin, opened in 1921 and closed in 1986. Evidently, the token machine was kept in the station and was interlocked to the Cabin. Ex box condition.

GWR brass and wood Stamp ' Great Western Railway Transhipped At Grange Court'. Approximately 2¼" x 1¾" actual brass stamp section with a 3¼" high handle that has been quite exquisitely made with a light and a dark hardwood, possibly mahogany and yew. The station was ex Hereford Ross & Gloucester Railway, opened in June 1855 and closed in October 1964.

St. John Ambulance Association brass engraved plaque, 13¾" x 9½". Shows the badge centre top with text beneath in Old English font. Actually a Certificate for the year 1897, won by The Great Eastern Railway. The lettering is wax filled in black and some capitals are in red. Most unusual and certainly an attractive item.

Southern Railway Target EAST GRINSTEAD. Ex LBSCR station, opened in 1882, that had a higher level platform between Three Bridges and Tunbridge Wells (closed 1967) and a low level platform Victoria to Lewes line. Very good condition with deep colour and shine, just the usually chipping in the armpits. Taped to the back is the original BR letter pertaining to the sale of this Target for 10 shillings.

Road Sign 'Road Junction' showing vertical 'T' bar with original glass beads. Manufactured by Gowhalls, complete with original half brackets on rear. Excellent condition.

Totem, BR(W) CLYNDERWYN, F/F. Ex GWR station between Whitland and Clarbeston Road in West Wales built by the South Wales Railway company in 1852 and originally named Narberth Road. Was briefly named Clynderwen Halt in 1965, reverting to simply Clynderwen in 1969. Some damage but the majority of the lettering is intact and the overall totem has good colour and shine. Rescued from the rubble when the current vendor's father bought the property from BR. A very rare totem, never before at auction.

Caledonian Railway Central Station Hotel Glasgow epns Coffee Cup Holders, a pair. Manufactured by Walker & Hall, Sheffield, these quite delightful identical items have a filigree style pattern and most ornate, if somewhat dainty handles. They are 2¾" diameter and stand 2" tall, 2¾" including the handle. Both in exceptional condition.

GWR C/I Signal Box Board WAEN LLWYDD SIGNAL BOX. Measures 71½" x 8¾" and has been welded by British Railways between the 'D' and 'S' when both the North and South boxes were condensed into one. Originated on the Ebbw Vale Branch just south of Victoria Station north of Aberbeeg.

Nameplate NORWICH UNION including the separate Badge. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3158. Built by the English Electric Co under works number E3739/E399 in July 1966. Renumbered 86233 under TOPS  in November 1973 and named by Gavin Blake, a member of staff of NU at Norwich station on 1st December 1987. Newton pattern measuring 59½" x 9¾" , the badge measures 12¾" x 12¾". Currently stored at Crewe ETD.

Ex 4-wheeled DH 230Hp "Pacer" Class 143, 2-car sets numbered 143601 to 143625, AB numbers 669 to 718/1985 to 1986 If plated in sequence this is ex Set 143613. The initials stand for Light Weight Diesel Multiple Unit. Bodies were built by Walter Alexander of Falkirk and the Underframes by AB. Oval alloy construction approximately 10" x 8", totally ex loco condition.

NER Station Platform Lamp with tablet ELLERBY. Ex NER station, actually the second, opened in  March 1864 as Marton but it was renamed Burton Constable in August of the same year. Not to be confused with confused with Constable Burton  in North Yorkshire, the name was changed again, at the start of 1922, to Ellerby. Closed to goods in November 1963 and to passengers in October 1964. A nicely restored lamp.

Industrial Locomotive Nameplate JUNO, ex Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T with inside cylinders, works number 1921, to traffic 13th July 1913 costing £1625. Sent to John Summers & Sons Ltd., Shotton Steel Works, working there throughout and eventually scrapped there around 1959. Chrome plated brass measuring 20¾" x 6½" and in ex loco condition.

A wonderful, framed poster depicting a rather large 'Dandy' on Stroud station being disrupted by the old, bearded porter who is reaching out for the beer. In the background is the Great Western Railway Timetable for London, Swindon, Stroud and Gloucester. The original wooden frame is deeply inscribed 'Stroud Brewery Co Ltd'. Published by Sir Joseph Causton Ltd., designers and printers London. Measures 35½" x 28" including frame and is in extremely good condition.

Posters, London & North Eastern Railway, qty 2 together with a big 4 Poster. The first LNER is a D/R advertising the April 1937 Spring Timetable. Folds and a large, clean tear ¾ of the way up the poster. The 2nd LNER is a Q/R, fully titled Timetable for Branch Lines (North British Section) May to July 1938. A substantial timetable with many closed routes shown. Some tears and folds but good overall. Finally, the big 4 poster, D/R advertising the fact that it is easier, when you go on holiday, to obtain your tickets in advance. Dated 1937, it has folds and some damage and is a little grubby.

Totem BR(M) BLISWORTH, H/F . Ex LNWR West Coast Main Line station and junction for SMJ route to Stratford on Avon, closed in 1960. Excellent  colour and  shine and a excellent chip repair on the right hand end, probably the best available from this station.

Carriage Print 20"x10", PETERBOROUGH from an original water colour by Henry Rushbury R.A. from the LNER original Pre War series issued 1937-1939. This unframed print has its original mount and is in mint condition. An extremely rare print with only two being recorded as being sold before at a Railwayana auction.

1930's felt faced Doll with a GWR, lapel badged Uniform and a GWR inscribed Cap. Most interesting history being won by the Vendors mother, Miss Ethel Partridge, in a raffle at Paddington Station Refreshment Rooms in the early 1930's. She was a GWR employee who, as a teenager, left the Forest of Dean for the bright lights of London to work for the GWR. She lodged at the company accommodation Westbourne Terrace and the vendor remembers her mother relating the story that the GWR Police escorted them to and from work because they had to pass the rather disreputable Eastbourne Terrace!. Shows age and has one foot half detached. Requires a good clean but a very historic item indeed.

Single Line, steel Key Token KESWICK No 2 - BRAITHWAITE. Ex CK&PR route between Penrith and Cockermouth. Braithwaite was a  4-lever box opened in 1874. Closed in April 1966. Excellent, ex box condition.

British Railways (NE) enamel Doorplate 'LADIES WAITING ROOM', F/F with black edged lettering. Double line measuring 18" x 6" and in exceptional condition with deep colour and shine, some chipping on the edge, not visible from the front.

Cabside Numberplate 1424, brass construction. Ex GWR 0-4-2T built Swindon in 1933 and originally numbered 4824. Initially allocated to Goodwick, it moved to Gloucester and became a favourite on the Chalford Push-Pull trains, clocking up almost a million miles, the highest of all the 14XX locomotives. Withdrawn in December 1963 and cut up at Cashmore's Great Bridge in June 1964. The accompanying paperwork shows the carriage charge of this particular plate from Swindon to Stroud for 4/7d.

Worksplate The English Electric Co. Ltd., Vulcan Works, Newton-Le-Willows, England No. 3511/D942. 1964. Ex Class 37 number D6954, later 37254. Entered traffic in January 1965 and final withdrawal took place on 31st January 1999. Sold to Harry Needle Railroad Company in 2001 and was moved to Barrow Hill where it was fitted with the power unit from 37153 and some other work was undertaken with a view to possible main line certification. Purchased in March 2003 for preservation and now at the Spa Valley Railway, Tunbridge Wells. Totally ex loco condition.

GWR B/W Photo Carriage Panel "GOODRINGTON SANDS, PAIGNTON". 1940-50s panel. A wonderful, sharp photo panel depicting a couple, seemingly on post-war rations, looking out over the beach. Excellent condition in original style glazed frame.

LNER Gauge Glass Lamps, a pair, both bearing the embossed 'BR(E) down one side, both complete and in excellent condition. Together with a pair of LNER Oval Mirrors with bakelite frames. Both mirrors have a bevelled edges and are etched with company initials at the bottom. One is carefully mounted on a wooden backboard, the other not. Both in excellent condition.

GWR Wagon Registration Plate of unusual style being alloy construction. A 'To Carry 10 Tons' plate numbered 1770 and dated 1889, this is the earliest GWR Registration Plate we have seen. Much sign of wear and use, the general consensus is that this is a later GWR replacement for a plate that was lost off the wagon.

Nameplate JOSIAH WEDGWOOD MASTER POTTER 1736 - 1795. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E. Built by BR Doncaster in December 1965. Renumbered 86236 under TOPS in February 1974 and named by Sir Arthur Bryan, Chairman of Wedgwood Group at Wedgwood station on 6th November 1980. Swindon pattern measuring  65¼" x 9¾" and the integral badge increases the width at centre to 14¾". Scrapped in 2003 by Easco, Immingham Railfreight Terminal.

Totem BR(NE) MARKET WEIGHTON, H/F. Ex NER station between Selby and Driffield, and Beverley and York. Opened in October 1847 with an overall roof, which was removed in 1947 and replaced with steel awnings. It closed in November 1965, and the station buildings were demolished in 1979. Introduced July 1959 and allocated to Crewe to work West Coast Main Line expresses. Renumbered 40017 in March 1974. Withdrawn from Widnes in 1981 and cut up at Swindon in August of that year. Clean ex loco with 90% of the original blue paint extant, chrome plating visible where paint has flaked.

Cabside Numberplate 5687, C/I. Ex GWR 0-6-2T engine, built Swindon in January 1927 and allocated to Barry. After a long period at Cathays, it moved to Treherbert for a number of years before being withdrawn from Rhymney in December 1963. Top and bottom rim stamped with Engine Class and Boiler Class respectively. Original receipt and consignment note accompanies.

South Yorkshire Joint Lines Committee brass Thunderer Guards Whistle complete with Chain. Manufacturers name on lip 'Henry Riley, Constitutional Hill, Birmingham'. One side clearly stamped 'S.Y.J.L.C and the other side stamped '14'. With only 3 stations on the line and closing to passengers in 1929 this must be an incredibly rare whistle.

London Brighton & South Coast & Ouest EPNS Salt Dishes, a pair. Two most delightful, matching items manufactured by Walker & Hall, Sheffield having the LB&SC Ouest garter crest with central Shipping Flag. Just 2½" diameter and standing just under 1½" tall on three most ornate 'claw' legs. One retains the original, blue glass insert, both are in extremely good condition with just minor knocks that certainly doesn't detract from such attractive items. These would have been in use around the turn of the century aboard one of the company ships plying the Newhaven - Dieppe route in conjunction with the French Western Railway (Chemin de Fer L'Ouest) running from 1863 onwards.

Totem, BR(S) NORTHAM, F/F dark green. Ex LSWR Southampton Terminus branch, opened in 1839 as a temporary station and then became a through station in 1840. Closed on the 5th September 1966. Excellent condition with deep colour and shine, just a few small edge chips.

Worksplate, LB&SCR No. 32 dated 1908 Brighton Works. Oval brass 'pie-crust' style. Ex LBSCR 4-4-2 Class I4 Tank Locomotive 2032, designed by Marsh, built in July 1908. These locos predominantly worked London - Tunbridge Wells trains but were not considered good performers. All but one of the class were withdrawn before the outbreak of WWII, the sole survivor gone by 1940. A quite magnificent worksplate. We thought the one sold in our May 2009 auction, No 33,  was the earliest we had seen but this one is even better!

Worksplate W.G. Bagnall Ltd Engineers Stafford England No 2302. Ex LMS Fowler 3F 0-6-0T originally No. 16549 and after 1934,  No. 7466, finally BR No. 47466. Entered service in June 1927. In the mid-1950s it was stationed at Westhouses and was withdrawn from there in September 1962. Scrapped at J.Cashmore, Great Bridge, in September 1963. Ex loco condition. This is a considerable scarcity as Bagnall made just 25 of these locos in three batches and this paricular one was the last of the second batch.

Nameplate SIR GERAINT. Ex Southern Railway King Arthur Class 4-6-0 locomotive built by the North British Locomotive Company in May 1925 being the third 'Scotch Arthur'. Originally numbered by the SR as 766, it later became 30766 under BR. Predominantly a Stewarts Lane loco, it was withdrawn from there in December 1958 and cut up shortly afterwards at Eastleigh Works after completing a respectable 1,141,019 miles in service. A wonderful, untouched plate with original, black background paint still evident. Clearly stamped '766' on the rear and also punched with the same numbers. Note: Sir Geraint was son of Erbin in a mediaeval Welsh tale from the Mabinogion in which King Arthur himself featured. Sir Geraint married at Caerleon and appears in Tennyson's book 'Idylld Of The King.

Worksplate, chromed brass The English Electric Co Ltd Vulcan Works Newton-Le-Willows No 3414/D872 1963. Ex Class 37 locomotive D6928, later 37228. Introduced to traffic in February 1964 and allocated to Landore. Between 1980 and 1982 it languished at Doncaster Works after suffering heavy accident damage. In 1986 it was renumbered 37696 after receiving dual braking. Spent a year in France and then went to Harry Needle Rail in 2008. Rim still retains chrome plating and plenty of blue paint, rear is clean ex loco.

Great Western Railway pine Bench, ex Ross-On-Wye. An unusual little bench branded with 'GWR' twice beneath, measuring just 36" long and 17½" high. It probably resided in the signal box having been acquired from there when closed. We have been trying to track down a particular book on this station that shows a photograph of this very bench.

GWR Pre-grouping Pocket Watch, by Lancashire Watch Co Ltd Prescot. A good quality English made watch with top wind and lever set for time adjustment. The dial is free from chips and has GWR enamelled below the XII position as well as the makers name. The good quality Nickel case has matching numbers 230 to all parts and the back of the case has GWR hand engraved onto it an the number 2029 machine engraved, the numbered movement 328340 is fully signed Lancashire Watch Co Ltd Prescot & London and the records show that this was made with 4 pairs of extra jewels and supplied to the GWR on the 15th March 1900. In fully cleaned and working condition, this type of watch is the rarest GWR pattern of all.

Nameplate CITY OF LANCASTER including the 3 Plaques that accompanied. Ex BR/EE 25kv Bo-Bo Class 86 originally numbered E3129. Built by British Railways at Doncaster in November 1965. Renumbered 86205 under TOPS in June 1973 and then 86503 in September 1988 only to revert back to 86203 in November 1989. Named at Lancaster station on 25th October 1979 by the then Mayor of Lancaster. The main plate measures 65¼" x 9¾" whilst the Red Rose COA badge is 10¾" x 10¾". The commemorative plaque measures 16" x 7½" and the Lancaster 800 plaque 13¾" x 11".

A top quality English made fusee watch with back wind and key set to the hands, the movement is engraved 12195 John Agar Bury and is in working condition. The dial is free from chips and has Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Compy 12195. The Nickel case has L&Y hand engraved to the rear. A stunning watch and the first time we have seen a watch by this maker.

Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Pocket Watch manufactured by the American Waltham Company. Rear engraved "L&BR", the watch is in fine working condition and comes with original, hallmarked silver Albert that has a 9ct gold enamel National Union Of Railwaymen Badge attached. This official issue watch was the property of Driver F.W. Northcombe who joined the L&BR as a Loco Fireman right at the beginning of the railway operating in 1898, became an established Driver and left at closure. The NUR Badge is engraved "Presented to Bro F.W. Northcombe By The Barnstaple Branch 1925". A small, original photograph of Mr Northcombe accompanies and also a few newspaper cuttings from the time.

Photographic Negatives circa 350, predominantly 3¼" x 2¼" with matching album showing circa  350 b/w photographs, 5½" x 3½ from the negatives. An interesting insight into the mid 1950's up to the early 1960's taken at a variety of locations in the UK showing all regions. Carriage Print 20"x10", THE RHINE VIA HARWICH from an original etching by Frank Mason R.I. from the LNER original etching series issued in 1936. This unframed print has its original mount and is in mint condition. An extremely rare print with only one being recorded as being sold before at a Railwayana auction.

Nameplate GOLD COAST. Ex Stanier 4-6-0 Jubilee Class Locomotive built at Crewe Works in 1934. Originally numbered 5610 then later 45610 by BR. Named in 1936 after the then British Colony in West Africa, it was a well cherished, Derby locomotive throughout its career.  When Gold Coast became independent in 1960 and changed to Ghana, the locomotive was renamed by the High Commissioner Mr E.O. Asafu-Adjaye at Euston station on 12th December 1958. Both Gold Coast nameplates were destined for the scrap bin but were recovered by a then Derby Works Engineer, who was allowed to purchase them for the scrap value. One plate was given to a friend, this one kept, much to the envy of many ex Derby Works men and other enthusiasts over the years. Punch marked twice on the rear indicating it to be the right hand plate, it measures 34½" in length. Lightly polished face with a red ground. The wooden display board and flush fixings accompany separately. Undoubtedly the very best name of all the 'Colony' Jubilees.

London Transport Station Target BANK. Three separate pieces, the central white on blue name and the two red and white half-moons. Requires suitable mounting to display.

Worksplate North British Locomotive Coy Ltd Glasgow 1942 No 24762 Hyde Park Works. Circular brass 7¾" diameter. Ex Stanier 8F 2-8-0 Locomotive number 8188 later 48188. Allocations include Manchester and Warrington with a short spell at Nuneaton. Repaired in Derby in June 1957 after accident damage. Finished up at Edge Hill from where withdrawal took place in 1965. Face clean, rear ex loco. Note: Without doubt the most historic of all 8F's being the one that was involved in the accident at Chapel-en-le-Frith on Saturday 9 February 1957 in which the bravest of Drivers, John Axon, stayed with his runaway train of 33 wagons as it descended the 1 in 58 gradient from Doves Hole Summit. Despite his efforts, the train crashed into a freight train ahead and he was killed. For his bravery he was posthumously awarded the George Cross.

Bridge Builders Plate in the shape of the Staffordshire Knot ' E.C. & J. Keay Ltd, Engineers & Contractors 1911, Birmingham & Darlaston. Ex Snow Hill Station bridge that was replaced in 1911 when the rebuilding took place. It was on display at the Tyseley Railway Museum for many years (the code is still visible in the top corner). Measures approximately 24" x 13" being the larger version.

Named at Mossend Euroterminal on the 26th September 1995. Withdrawn in March 1998 and stored at Bescot for component recovery. Purchased by Fragonset on 2002 and taken to MOD Kineton in November 2002. Finally scrapped and cut up at EMR, Kingsbury on  July 14th 2007. The most unique of all Class 47 nameplates having all lower case lettering. Measures 45½" in length and the badge is 9¾" diameter. Totally ex loco and complete with EWS Certificate of Authenticity.

Carriage Print "GORLESTON-ON-SEA, NORFOLK" by F Donald Blake R.I. from the LNER Post War series. Gorleston on Sea, Norfolk, just before1954, a beachside scene easily recognisable in 2006.  The piers of the river mouth are visible in the background right whilst background left is marked by the strange box-like brick structure that was the 1901 Pavilion. The painting is made from the Upper Esplanade (left) facing Pier Gardens in the near distance. The two prominent buildings at centre are the 1893 Pier Hotel and the Floral Hall (now called the Ocean Room) of 1939. Mint condition. In original style frame and glazed.

Single Line bronze Key Token CAWBURN JCN - CARMONDEAN JCN No 12, 'C' Configuration. Ex Edinburgh - Bathgate line that was reintroduced in  in 1986. The interlocking at Newbridge was delayed  and as a consequence, two temporary signal boxes were created at Cawburn Jcn and Carmondean Jcn. In use on this section from 16 Mar 1986 until 4th May 1986. The temporary boxes were then removed following the commissioning of the new interlocking at Newbridge which was controlled from Edinburgh SC.

Renumbered 86251 under TOPS in May 1974, it was named in February 1980 by Jack Ready, Editor at Birmingham New Street. Swindon casting measures 80¾" x 9¾". The loco is currently stored at Long Marston.

Great Northern Railway Fusee Pocket Watch No 65, by John Walker London. A top quality English made fusee watch with back wind and key set to the hands. The movement is engraved '461 JNo Walker 48 Princess St Leicester Sq London' and is in cleaned, working condition. The dial is free from chips and has Great Northern, John Walker 77 Cornhill & 230 Regent St London enamelled onto it. The Nickel case has Great Northern No 65 hand engraved to the rear. A stunning watch and possibly the earliest Great Northern watch to survive, we have certainly not seen anything to match this.

Smiths Speedometer as removed from Bulleid Pacific Battle Of Britain Class 34089 '602 SQUADRON' when it languished for a while at Salisbury MPD in 1967 after withdrawal. It was then sent to Cashmores in 1968 and cut up. Dial reads 0 - 100 mph and the rear has the stamping 'E98' Excellent condition throughout.

LNER Hotels Steam Ships large Water Jug and Wash Bowl set. The jug stands 11" high and carries the LNER Hotels SS garter crest on both sides. The crest is in gold lettering to match the rim, base and handle decoration. The bowl measures 16¼" diameter bears the LNER script logo in brown lettering, the top, centre and bottom decoration is in gold. The bowl has the makers name impressed 'Mintons' and also has the Minton makers logo. Both are free from chips and cracks being in excellent condition. A great rarity.

Quite probably a scarce British Railways sign but might be from a private marshalling yard.

GWR 12 inch Mahogany cased fusee clock, with chisel base to the bottom of the drop. A significant Great Western clock with chain driven fusee and a nice Ogee surround to the dial. The movement of typical London style has many John Walker characteristics which point to this clock being supplied by this maker between 1853-1871. Subsequently, Kays took over the supply of clocks to the GWR. The clock is in unrestored original condition with a cast brass bezel, Ivorine numberplate GWR 651 and the same number chalked onto the back box. The movement is stamped 7185 as are the bezel hinge and pendulum. A rare clock and the best of this type we have ever seen.

Totem, BR(S) STAINES CENTRAL, H/F dark green. Ex LSWR station opened by the London & Windsor Railway in 1848 between Waterloo and Reading and also the branch to Windsor & Eton Riverside. Virtually mint, exceedingly rare, first time ever at auction.

GWR C/I Signalbox Board GLOUCESTER LOOP JUNCTION SIGNAL BOX. Opened on 8th January 1906 when the Hatherley Loop was constructed to take Banbury & Kingham trains directly to Gloucester. Prior to World War 2, the loop carried the once a day in each direction 'Port-to-Port Express' between Newcastle and Swansea and also heavy ironstone trains between Oxfordshire and South Wales as well as the trains originating from the MSWJR. The box closed in 1956. Measures 10' 6" in length and is in clean, ex box condition.

GWR Oak cased 5½" Diameter Signal Box / Office Wall Clock by Smiths England. This type of clock is generically known as a "Pork Pie" , the wooden surround is stamped GWR at the top and this is a feature found on the earlier ones, the dial shows the number 0.354 .The movement is cleaned and fully working  and the removable back still has a British Rail Collectors Corner label attached to this effect. A nice example of this style of clock.

Pullman brass Table Lamp ex TC96. An ornate lamp from a Bournemouth Belle second class parlour car. This lamp dates from January 1947, the car has a particularly interesting history as researched by Terry Bye of the Pullman car service information site, and these show that CAR No.96 was a second class Parlour car that originally was car SYLVIA of 1921 built at the Pullman Longhedge Works, London as a Parlour Car First Class, with 2 x 6 wheel bogies and seating for 27. It was supplied for use on the SE&CR and delivered in SE&CR crimson with gold lining (Same livery as TOPAZ in the NRM at York) the seating was reduced to 26 in January 1935 and was then remodelled at Preston Park Brighton to Second Class in January 1947 with seating for 36 and allocated the identity of No.96 Second Class. It was known to be in the Bournemouth Belle 1947 to 1959 and was withdrawn January 1961. Sold to BR and became Pullman Holiday Coach P48.located to Tipton St. Johns and eventually Scrapped c1968. The lamp is in excellent condition but has had the plug removed for safety reasons. We recommend that this is checked by a competent electrician before use

Ex GWR station opened by the South Wales Railway in 1850.  Relocated in 1876 and amalgamated with the former Llynvi and Ogmore Railway station of 1865, which served the branch lines to Tondu and Porthcawl. Closed in 1964. A new station opened further west in 1994. Some mottling from the sea environment but a scarce totem nevertheless.

Cherry Blossom Shoe Shine Box with three, trapezoid enamel plates fitted. The rear of the box has an opening flap revealing the compartment for polish, brush and duster. The top of the box has a well used wooden foot rest attached to the centre. Measures 16½" wide, 13¾" deep and 11½" tall. The enamel plates are blue with a white circle bearing the red lettering 'Cherry Blossom Boot Polish' with the same again in the centre within the cherries and leaves.  A wonderful item in extremely good condition with minor enamel loss on a couple of plates around the bolt holes.

Cabside Numberplate 1662, brass construction. Ex contractor built 0-6-0PT built March 1955 and initially allocated to Worcester. After a short spell there, it moved into permanent residence at Hereford and remained there until withdrawal in December 1963 and subsequently cut up at Swindon. Purchased directly from Swindon after withdrawal. Face polished, rear clean ex loco.

Double dial side-by-side, both indicating 'Train In Section and Train Approaching Section, the left is for the Down Line, the right for the Up Line. Deltic Flamecut Cabside ex 55014 THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON'S REGIMENT. Built by the English Electric Company under works number 2919/D571 in September 1961 and allocated to Gateshead. Named in October 1963 at Darlington station by Major General KG Exham, Colonel of the Regiment. Scrapped at BREL Doncaster in February 1982. Measures 32½" x 34" and is a little roughly cut around the edge but looks exceptional. The York crest transfer has only a small amount remaining but the numerals and the data panel are extremely good. There is a small yellow triangle at the bottom, evidentially carried by only one other of the class. 55017. Comes with original receipt.

GWR Signalbox brass Shelf Plate FROM HENGOED & MAESYCYMMER, machine engraved. The station was opened by the Rhymney Railway in 1858 and became Hengoed Low Level in 1923 under the GWR. Interesting that this shelfplate post dates the era but used the same, early nomenclature. With the various railway companies converging in this 3 station area, it is no surprise. Probably from Ystrad Mynach or Pengam Signalbox.

Original copper capped Double Chimney from a Castle Class 4-6-0 Locomotive. A quite magnificent item in what looks like superb, condition with all the knocks and dents from steam days. Measures approximately 19" high from bottom flange to top, 28" overall height including the apron and the bores are approximately 13" in diameter. Weight is estimated to be 5cwt and it is being sold from the vendor's premises in Somerset. It is sat on a wooden pallet and will be lifted by the vendor's forklift at site, onto suitable transport provided by the buyer.

Nameplate DOWNSIDE, ex Southern Railway 'Schools' Class 4-4-0 locomotive. Built at Eastleigh in 1933 and originally numbered 912, it became 30912 under British Railways. Allocations include Ramsgate, St Leonards and Nine Elms. Withdrawn from the latter in 1962. A nice, well balanced, shortish plate that is face polished, rear completely ex loco. It is no surprise that few Schools Class nameplates have come to market over the years. There were only 40 in the class and 40 nameplates were donated to the associated schools. Note: Downside School is near Radstock in Somerset, a short distance from the ex Somerset & Dorset Railway.

Lonergan Locomotive brass Triple Tone Whistle complete with horizontal lever mechanism. Measures 10" tall including the top acorn finial and 9½" diameter. Additionally, the operating valve and lever add a further 2¾" to the height. Valve knuckle is clearly stamped with the makers name 'Lonergan' on both sides. Ex loco condition throughout.

GWR 14" mahogany cased fusee dial clock. The GWR numberplate 1695 is fixed to the left hand side of the backbox. The case and movement date this clock to around the 1930's period so it is quite a late GWR clock. The dial has been repainted post 1948 and shows 'BR-W'. Looks to be in working condition but requires checking and some restoration. In totally ex Railway condition with the glass missing and no key.

Enamel London Street Sign 'EDGWARE ROAD W2 City Of Westminster'. Measures 37" x 18", fully flanged with black lettering and red lettering on a white ground. Excellent condition overall, some chipping that doesn't detract.

GWR china Poster Paste Pot measuring 6" across the top diameter. Piecrust style body increasing to 6½" diameter near the base, 3½" tall. Central slot on the top is large enough to take a 4½" paste brush and each side of this are smaller apertures for smaller brushes. Within the glaze on the top are the company initials in large letters 'G.W.R.'. Slight glaze craze and a few minor cracks do not detract. Additionally, an identical, albeit slightly smaller example bearing the garter crest 'Waterlow & Sons Limited London' on the top instead of the GWR mark. This one is in pristine condition. Obviously with Waterlow being one of the major producers of posters, they may well have had these made for their customers.

Woodbridge is basically unchanged being a station on the East Suffolk line and the head of navigation on the River Deben. The tall building (right) was the Woodbridge Tide Mill which was functioning 1793-1957. It no longer works commercially but it has been restored and morning coffee may be enjoyed inside. Mint condition. In original style frame and glazed.
