Built at Doncaster Works No. 1877 in July 1938 and originally named PEREGRINE. Renamed LORD FARINGDON in March 1948. Renumbered LNER 34 in November 1946 and became BR 60034 in March 1948. A Kings Cross engine until October 1963 when it was transferred to St Margarets Edinburgh for a brief spell, ending up at Ferryhill, Aberdeen from where withdrawal took place in August 1966. Cut up by Hughes, Bolckow at Blyth. Measures 13 x 5 and is mounted on a wooden plinth. A wonderful item in lovely condition. £5200

Locomotive Alloy Headboard THE CAMBRIAN COAST EXPRESS. The train was inaugurated in 1927 running Fridays and Saturdays from Paddington to Aberystwyth and through coaches to Pwllheli. Journey time was total of 5 hours 35 minutes for the 235 miles from London. In the reverse direction, the train left Aberystwyth at 10:00 am. The train became the 2:00 pm (hourly service) departure from Birmingham to arrive at Paddington at 4:00 pm. Thus the up journey, which took 6 hours, was 25 minutes slower than the down journey This excellent headboard is in pretty much ex loco condition, still retaining some soot around some of the corners, plenty of evidence that this was carried for a long while, the back has the names of other headboards of the same pattern cast into it. An opportunity to acquire a evocative headboard that has not been on the market for over a decade. £5500

One of two standard gauge 0-6-0T locos with 13 x 18 outside cylinders sold to Captain Osbourne on behalf of the Mount Kiera Colliery in New South Wales, Australia. It arrived at Woollagong Harbour on 13th February 1879 where it was assembled and then drawn by horses to the colliery. It was originally named KEMBLA but when an opposition colliery opened at Mount Kembla, it was decide to rename it to KIERA 2. It had a very long, 75 years hauling coal from the colliery to the main line before being scrapped and cut up in January 1955. £2200

Built Swindon in December 1935 and allocated new to Gloucester. A short time at Worcester saw the return to Gloucester and undoubtedly became the old favourite Withdrawn from there in April 1964 and finally cut up at Cashmores, Newport in August 1964. The numerals and rim of the face has not been touched but indications are that someone has applied black paint at some time, the lining has disappeared. A framed and glazed colour photograph taken in June 1962 at Blatchbridge Junction on a Cheltenham - Weymouth train accompanies. Note: Clyffe Hall is an early 18th century building at West Lavington, a few miles south of Devizes. £1000

It went new to Old Oak Common and remained there well into BR days until a move in 1956 to Penzance, then Newton Abbot, Landore, and finally a brief spell at Exeter from where withdrawal took place in September 1962. Oak cased with intricate carving and a silvered dial with black wax filled numerals. Stands 12 high and is 8 at widest, 6 deep. The rear door opens to reveal a label inscribed W. Potts & Sons Watch & Clockmakers, Leeds with various inscriptions including Mar 1921, Aug 1904. There is an additional, railway label showing it to be from the General Managers Office, Telecoms Centre, Room 11, Basement MHQ, York. Recently overhauled by Clock Tower, Morecambe and guaranteed for 1 year from 21st September 2007. A lovely clock in extremely good condition. Note: Winterhalder and Hofmeier are possibly the most famous of the German Victorian clockmakers. The firm was started by Anton Winterhalder in Schwarzenbach, Germany in 1810, taking Anton Hofmeier into partnership in 1850, with the business finally closing on the death of Winterhalders last son Linus in 1910. A large part of their output was made for Britain and the quality of movements and cases is always very high as seen in this example. £
